I started my first channel, The Easy Path Project, a couple years ago and I didn’t really know what I was doing.
I wanted it to grow into a place where people would want to hang out and share tips & ideas for living an awesome life.
To invite like-minded friends I put up some videos about cool jobs, my favorite music, some random chat.
The kind of stuff you’d talk about with your buddies when you’re sitting around drinking a couple beers.
400 people like my videos & subscribed, but I let the channel sit for a while because I was getting frustrated.
I would spend time making videos I felt were interesting and useful, but few people were watching.
I started reading up on ‘how to grow a YouTube channel’ and ‘how to get subscribers on YouTube’.
The more I learned the more excited I got about growing my channel.
The 2 biggest things?
- You grow with your audience. Ask what they want, then give it to them. They will give back to you.
- Creators help other creators. They are incredibly generous in helping others join in.
